Cinema Journal (ISSN 0009-7101) is published quarterly in Fall (November), Winter (February), Spring (May), and Summer (August) by the University at Texas Press, Journals Division, 2100 Comal, Austin, TX 78722-2550.

Cinema Journal is published in cooperation with the Society for Cinema and Media Studies; members of the society receive the journal as one of the benefits of membership. All business inquiries (subscriptions, advertisements, and change-of-address notices) and requests for back issues should be addressed to the Journals Division, University of Texas Press, P.O. Domestic and non-U.S. claims for missing issues must be received within 90 days of the publication date. Issues returned "undeliverable" are available for reshipment at cost of new shipment. Back issues are available on microfilm from University Microfilms International, 300 N. Zeeb Road, Ann Arbor. MI 48106.

This journal is a member of CELJ, the Conference of Editors of Learned Journals. It is indexed in Arts and Humanities Citation Index, Film Literature Index, International Index to Film Periodicals, and PMLA and abstracted in Extended Academic Abstracts.

    

Submission Guidelines

Only members of the Society for Cinema and Media Studies may publish essays in Cinema Journal.

To be considered for review, manuscripts should be at least 10,000 words long, should follow the format specified by The Chicago Manual of Style (15th Edition), and should be double-spaced. Frame enlargements or other illustrative materials must be supplied by authors, who are responsible for obtaining permission to publish them in cases where Fair Use does not apply. Digital frame grabs should have a minimum resolution of 250-300dpi. Electronic submissions are strongly preferred and should be e-mailed to cinemajournal@cmstudies.org.  Submissions by regular mail should be accompanied by a disk version and a hard copy of the article. The author's name, snail-mail address, affiliation and e-mail address should be provided separately from the manuscript.  Submissions should give no indication of the author's identity.

After a prescreening, articles are anonymously refereed. Whether an essay is accepted or rejected, referee comments are returned to authors.
