Hi everyone!
Please join us for the 26th annual SCMS Grrrls' Night Out Dinner on Thursday, March 22nd at 8:00 PM. This year, we've reserved an entire restaurant--My Thai Cafe in Boston's Chinatown District--and we expect to have a memorable celebration/party/networking extravaganza-- as always!
For those new to the happening, "GRRRLS NITE OUT" is an open, friendly event aimed at encouraging conversation and connection among women. Everyoneis welcome to bring other women--friends, students, family members, partners--to dinner, so please forward this invitation to any other conference-goers you think might be interested. We very much welcome internationalscholars and graduate students.
We chose our venue, My Thai Vegan Cafe, in order to accomodate as many dietary requests as possible and because the owner has generously agreed to reserve the entire restaurant for us on the night of the 22nd, meaning there will be plenty of time and space to mingle, make new friends, and catch up with old acquaintances. My Thai will prepare a multi-course family-style meal to us, and we are encouraged to bring our own beer and wine, as My Thai does not sell alcohol (see directions below for nearby liquor stores). We will post the official menu to our Eventbrite site as soon as it becomes available; in the meantime, please email us with any questions about food restrictions or handicap accessibility.
Please buy your tickets now , as Grrrls' Night Out sells out quickly every year. This year we should be able to accomodate up to 120 grrrls--we hope you'll be one of them!
Also note that after March 8th, the Grrrls' Night Out organizers will be unable to issue refunds on purchased tickets , and it will be up to you to find someone else to take your seat.
We really hope to see you on the 22nd-- and please forward this invitation to any other SCMS conference participants you think might want to attend.
Best wishes,
Chris Holmlund
