2011 SCMS Preliminary Conference Schedule
Tuesday, December 7, 2010
The preliminary draft of the 2011 New Orleans Conference Program is now online. To access it from the home page of the website, select Conference and 2011 Schedule from the main menu. Then select 2011 SCMS Preliminary Conference Schedule. To look up author names select the Find button on the tool bar and enter the author's name in the upper left corner of the search box and return. You can also use Ctrl + F to locate the author's name.
If there are minor changes (affiliation, order of presentations, format issues or spelling corrections) to your panels, workshops or papers, please send the corrections to firstname.lastname@example.org by December 20, 2010. SCMS cannot accommodate requests for changes in the scheduled day or time of the panels or workshops.
If you know of any cancellations, please notify us as soon as possible. The SCMS refund policy is provided below.
Please note that corrections will not be made to the preliminary draft. They will be included in the final printed program that will be available at the conference.
Jane Dye and Debbie Rush
2011 CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY
All requests for refunds MUST be e-mailed to the SCMS office at email@example.com and received no later than February 7, 2011. No telephone requests please.
Conference registration fee refunds will be made at 80% of the amount paid and will be processed after the conference.
2011 AV POLICY
The following equipment will be standard in all panel/workshops rooms at the 2011 conference:
DVD Player REGION 1 (standard for USA & Canada)
LCD Projector (with audio)
Wireless Internet Access (you will need to obtain a password for this at registration)
Because the cost of equipping rooms with computers is prohibitively expensive, we must ask you to bring your own laptop if you plan to use data projection. If you have an Apple computer, you will need to bring an adapter/connector for projection. Panels and workshops with multiple presentations using data projection are encouraged to coordinate before their session time to have all presentations on a single computer or flash drive. Please Note: we have made efforts to have multi-standard DVD players, but it is not cost feasible so please make plans to convert your media if needed. Most multi-region DVDs can be played from laptop computers, and thus projected like PowerPoint presentations. Please test any multi-standard DVDs before arriving at the conference. Wireless internet access will be provided in panel/workshop rooms and conference space (but unfortunately, due to cost, not in attendee sleeping rooms). Additionally, we will not be offering overhead projectors, slide projectors, CD players and/or additional audio components.
If you have questions about AV or the Society’s audiovisual policy, please contact, Leslie LeMond, Conference Manager, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
