To submit a proposal or to participate in a panel or workshop, you must be a registered user of the website. If you are not a registered user or a member of the Society, a temporary, 30-day membership is available for individuals who want to to submit conference proposals. Only full members can present at the conference. if you are submitting a panel or workshop proposal, and you cannot locate one of your participant's name in the drop down arrow box, then he/she is not a registered user. Do not select a proxy if the presenter'name is not in the drop down arrow box. You can register the individual or ask him or her to register for the website before submitting the proposal.

Please Note: New users who register to use the website for the first time will experience a 12 to 24 business hours delay before the profiles are approved. Please allow plenty of time for your profile to be approved if you want to submit a proposal. Individuals do not need to be current SCMS members to submit a proposal. However, if your proposal is accepted you must be or become an SCMS member, register for the conference and pay the registration fee by December 20, 2010 (5:00pm CT). Unless conference participants have registered, paid the conference registration fee and are current members by the December 20 deadline, their name, affiliation and title of paper will not appear in the final conference program.Key Highlights for Submitting an Open Call, Panel or Workshop Proposals

Note: Please do not contact the conference program committee chair for exceptions to the rules.Individuals may submit ONLY ONE paper proposal, EITHER to the open call or as part of a pre-constituted panel. Submitting paper proposals both to the open call and as part of a pre-constituted panel (even if it is the same paper) will result in disqualification. Individuals may present ONLY ONE paper at the conference. All open call papers only will be asked to self-select THE category with a subcategory pertaining to Gender / Sexuality, History; Institutional / Industrial; International / Transnational / Global; Race / Ethnicity / Identity; or Theory that BEST describes the content of the presentation:
