Mission Statement

Libraries & Archives Scholarly Interest Group (LASIG) stimulates and advances research, pedagogy, and discussion relating to cinema and media studies libraries and archives.


Goals and Objectives:

  1. To represent and promote the interests of cinema and media studies librarians and archivists within the Society.
  2. To promote dialog between librarians, archivists, and scholars working in various fields within the Society.
  3. To help cinema and media studies librarians/archivists stay abreast of trends in scholarship by involving them in Society activities
  4. To provide a focus of activity in which librarians and archivists can work collaboratively on problems and issues that affect users of cinema and media studies libraries/archives.
  5. To provide an institutional “home” for cinema and media studies librarians/archivists where none currently exists.
  6. To establish core values and best practices for this field of librarianship.
