Biography: Victoria E. Johnson is Associate Professor in the Department of Film and Media Studies and the Ph.D. Program in Visual Studies at the University of California, Irvine, where she is also affiliated faculty in African American Studies and in Gender and Sexuality Studies. Victoria chaired the Department of Film and Media Studies at UCI from 2009-2012 and from 2013-2014. Prior to her appointment at UCI she taught at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She was Wolf Visiting Professor of Television Studies at the University of Pennsylvania in 2009.
